When it comes to traveling and taking your baby places, you want to make sure you don’t leave the house without all of the necessary things to get you both throughout the day. Here is a great list to help make sure you don’t forget anything!
For Baby
You obviously want diapers and wipes, on average 1 diaper for every two hours that you will be gone, but a few extras won’t hurt. Also having a portable changing pad is a life saver, along with rash cream. Personally, my family uses bag balm on their little bums and we love it!
It’s always good to bring an extra outfit for your baby in case they have an accident. I like to include a hat, and scratch mittens if they are still young.
As far as feeding goes, always bring extra bottles and formula, or if you are still nursing, bring a nursing cover and extra nursing pads. An extra shirt for yourself is always optional in case you have an accidental leak through. Burp rags are also a must, preferably 2-3! If your baby is a little older, some of their favorite snacks are a good idea to have in the bag as well.
Other items could include: hand sanitizer, a small bottle of sunscreen, 2-3 binkies in case one gets lost, a travel sized first aid kit, a thermometer, and of course a few toys to keep them entertained.
For Mom
Because you already have enough items to carry around for your baby, it’s hard to carry a diaper bag and a purse for yourself. It is so much easier to just throw a few extra things into the diaper bag for yourself.
Some recommended items are: headache medicine, tums, pads or tampons, hand lotion, chapstick, hair ties and bobby pins, a nursing cover or small blanket, wallet, a few pens, and an extra phone charger.
When it comes to babies, you never know what you will end up needing during the day, so it is best to be prepared for anything! Check out our website for other fun accessories to add to your diaper bag!
