I Love You Mommy

I know you’re so tired mommy, but I need you. I just woke up and I don’t know what to do. Will you play with me?

I know you’re trying to get ready for the day but I miss you. Can I come sit and watch you? You’re so pretty mommy.  

I know you’re embarrassed mommy when I cry at the store. But I just need you to hold me. There are so many strange and unfamiliar sights and sounds and I just feel so overwhelmed. Please hold me close so I feel safe again.

My tummy hurts and I don’t know what’s wrong mommy. I might be hungry. I’m sorry I’m crying, but I can’t talk yet and I’m scared. I need you to help me. You always know how to make me feel better. I’m so thankful for you.

I know you’re tired and want to relax mommy. Can I relax with you? I don’t want to be alone.

I’m sorry I always fall asleep on you, but I’m so little and being awake is exhausting sometimes. Plus I love the sound of your heart. It is so comforting to me and I feel so safe with you.

I know I just fell asleep and now you can have time to yourself, but will you stay with me just a while longer. I sleep so much better knowing you are next to me.

I’m having a bad dream mommy. Can you cuddle me and hold me real close? I always feel so safe in your arms. I know you want space sometimes, but I’m just so little. I get scared. It helps when I’m near you.  

Sorry I didn’t sleep long but I’m hungry mommy. I know it feels like I just ate, but my tummy is so small and I get hungry often. Will you feed me so I can sleep with a full tummy? Thanks mommy, I love you. 

I’m sorry I scratch you sometimes when I eat, I’m still learning how my hands work. I do love when you take my hand in yours though. Your touch is so soft even when I am rough sometimes. I love you so much.

I know I’m supposed to be taking a nap, but I just want to be near you. I love the sound of your voice, and I love looking at you. You are my favorite view and I’m so happy when I know you are near me and I can see you. Can I stay awake just a little longer?

I’m grateful that you take care of me even when you are so tired. I just need you right now mommy. I promise I won’t always be like this. I love you. Thank you for keeping me safe and happy.
