What to Put on Your Baby Registry

Having trouble thinking of what to put on your baby registry? Don’t worry, you aren’t the only one. If you are a first time mom like me, creating a registry is important because there are lots of items that you will need; items that I didn’t even think about putting on my registry. So, I have created a list for you of things that I’m finding useful to help take care of my baby that hopefully can give you some insight on what to put on your baby registry. 

For your baby:

First we can start with the “medical” things you will need. 

• First aid kit
• Booger sucker
• Diaper rash spray
• Vaseline
• Baby Tylenol
• Gripe water

Next we have some clothing items!

• Swaddle blankets (and you’ll want a bunch)
• Swaddle blankets with velcro
• Burp rags
• Scratch mittens
• White onesies
• Pajamas
• Hats and socks
• Towels and washcloths

Finally we have the miscellaneous items.

• Diapers and wipes
• Outlet covers
• Car Seat cover
• Car window shades
• Diaper bag
• Diaper bag organizers
• Binkies
• Bottles
• Bath soap
• Cradle cap brush
• Baby monitor
• Baby lotion

Now don’t forget to list things that you will need too!

For mom:

• Nipple cream (trust me, you will want it if you choose to nurse)
• Nursing bras and shirts
• Nursing bra pads
• Bath salts
• Boppy pillow
• Nice water bottle (you will be thirsty all the time nursing!)
• Milk storage bags
• Breast pump (usually you can get one through your insurance)

Don’t worry if you don’t get everything on your registry. As you spend time with your baby, you will notice all of the items that you will need to take care of them, which could be different from these items listed! The joys about having a baby is that it is your own unique experience and you’ll learn what is best for both you and your baby!
